The Association: An ambition serving the 7th art
The "Les Films de Plein Air" association, led by Jennifer Vialet, was born from a simple desire: to make auteur films accessible to the general public in a prestigious setting. Despite a limited budget, the association relies on the quality of its programming to offer a unique experience to spectators every year. For this new year, the team has chosen to take you on a journey with a strong and harmonized thematic selection.

The festival is celebrating its 5th edition, what is the dominant feeling?
"It is an immense pride to see the festival's reputation grow over time. For this 5th edition, we wanted to strengthen the visual identity and the spirit of the festival to offer an even more coherent and immersive event."
Why did you choose the theme "Journey" this year?
Previously, our programming was more eclectic. This year, we wanted to target a specific theme to transport our spectators. Travel is a universal theme that resonates perfectly with the escape offered by outdoor cinema.
How important is the support of your partners?
Without the support of the Paris City Hall, the Ile-de-France Region, and France Télévisions, nothing would be possible. Their presence on our platforms is the guarantee of a solid collaboration for culture in Paris.
The technical challenge: Setting up a cinema in a public garden
Installing a giant screen at Parc Monceau is a real logistical challenge that is repeated every evening from 6 PM to midnight during the 3 days of the festival in August.
The setup: Starting in the afternoon, technicians deploy a structure capable of withstanding the wind while offering an image quality worthy of the best movie theaters.
The sound: The challenge is to guarantee total immersion for the spectators without disturbing the nightly quiet of the neighborhood.
The preparation: Each selected auteur film is tested to ensure that the visual experience is perfect under the celestial vault.
When you come to the festival, you only see the screen, but it is an entire team of volunteers and collaborators working in the shadows so that the screening is memorable.
